North Jersey's largest brewery and tasting room is opening soon in the meadowlands. Our "hoof-crafted" ales and lagers ensure there's always something on tap for everyone. Located just minutes away from midtown Manhattan, the NJ Turnpike, Garden State Parkway, rts 17, 46, 3, and 495 come check us out and see what the BS is all about.

      Is food served?

      A:

Hi Regina, unfortunately NJ state law prohibits production breweries from offering it serving food. But we do encourage you to bring food with you or order delivery from any of the fantastic eateries in our community.

    • Q:

      Are dogs allowed outside?

      A:

No. Unfortunately, pets aren't welcome in the beer garden but if course, service animals are permitted.

Can't believe I've never been here since it's 20 minutes away from my house! Tasty beer selection and cool vibes. They also have a food truck vendor in the parking lot if you get hungry or you can bring your own food.

We went on a Saturday and it was super crowded but I believe there were two events happening. The staff were friendly and very knowledgeable on the beer selection and made recommendations if we had a questions. They are also pet friendly so feel free to bring your pup!

Will be coming back here to try more beers!

Bolero Snort Brewery in Rutherford offers a wide variety of very tasty, "flavor-forward" beers in their comfortable tasting room located just off NJ Route 120 in Carlstadt. Bolero Snort produces several types of tasty and fresh beer on-site - including seasonally-inspired and limited-production IPAs, ales, lagers. stouts, and seltzers -- and rotates the selections on tap in the tasting room (with a menu available on their website at https://bolerosnort.com/on-tap/). Even if you suffer from lactose intolerance or celiac disease, Bolero Snort offers adult beverages for those with dietary restrictions by clearly designating the lactose-free beers and gluten-free seltzers on their menu above the taps. All of the 20+ beers on-tap are available in a variety of pour sizes (5 oz, 8 oz, 11 oz, 12 oz, or 20 oz), to sample several and pick your favorite, then grab a crowler, growler, bottles or cans to go.

I was excited to meet up with a friend of mine and his family at Bolero Snort on a recent Friday. The tasting room was pretty quiet when we arrived just before 6pm, but gradually filled up until we left at 730pm. I'm not sure what makes Bolero Snort (and microbreweries, in general) so popular with young families, but there were several groups enjoying tasty beers while their kids sat nearby in strollers in the tasting room. There is a semi-private room on the second floor overlooking the tasting room that is available to be reserved in advance by reaching out to the brewery by email or phone.

The three of us who were indulging in adult beverages enjoyed our beers and agreed they earned a solid 5 out of 5 stars for their smooth, consistent flavors. This time of year, I tend to enjoy flavorful stouts more than hoppy IPAs, so I tried the collaboration with Jersey City's Departed Soles Brewery called "Departed is Bringing Cinnamon Rolls", an 8.0% ABV stout featuring intense flavor notes of cinnamon, vanilla, and coffee, and the collaboration with Hackettstown's Czig Meister Brewing called "Czig is Bringing Cake", an 11.3% ABV imperial stout with strong flavor notes of German chocolate cake, coconut flakes, toasted coconut, pecans, cocoa and vanilla. WOW! Both were exceptionally smooth and tasty. My friends loved the Acrobaleno, a 7.8% ABV imperial stout inspired by Italian rainbow cookie with flavors of raspberry, almond, cocoa and vanilla; the Pineapple Bullwhip, a 6.3% ABV IPA flavored with pineapple, vanilla and lots of hops; and the Barrel Aged Spumoni, a 10.9% ABV imperial stout aged for 16-months Willet bourbon barrels with tart cherry, pistachios, cocoa and vanilla. My friends gave the Peanut Butter Snowbull Fights, an 8% ABV Double IPA, mixed reviews as the smoothness of the peanut butter and vanilla notes conflicted with the double helping of Citra, Mosaic, and Bru-1 hops, but still drained their glass without a second thought.

I'd definitely go back next time I'm in the area to try some of the other flavorful beers.

PRO TIP: Food is not available directly from Bolero Snort, but menus are available at the brewery for the many, many options that will deliver to Bolero Snort and there's usually a food truck camped out just off-site on Broad Street.

The nutty malts and a clean finish Ragin' Bull led me to visit Bolero Snort Brewery in Carlstadt New Jersey.

Architecturally, it is located on a podium which opens to outdoor seating through a garage door. It must be a nice seating inside and out, under warm weather. Interiors look simple and similar to that of pub, consisting of tasting counter and bar/linear tables, in addition to round barrel seating in the middle.

Surprisingly huge brew tanks to the side, ordering was very easy at the counter (apple pay!) but it was a bit slow since it was Saturday. Ordered 4- tasting glass of BYK, Steamroom, This beer is not Hype enough and Jersey Sarcasm.

Jersey Sarcasm American Lager, was very light and had a very clear appearence. BYK was dark larger with coffee flavor, which was the best our the four. This beer.. was a pilsner with milky looking between two formers.

It is very conveniently located (2 minute driving from rt 17), but I wish there were more parking spaces. Will definitely visit again.

Came to Bolero Brewery on a Monday evening since we had the day off and wanted to enjoy some Beers outside. Because it was a Monday, they didn't have the second outside area open, usually this is where we sit on weekends. So this was the first time inside. Started off with a flight of 4 and a 20 ounce Jersey Sarcasm (lager). They had tons of sour's and hoppy beers, that just isn't my type of beer. There were about 4 lager's which was great, but not one Pilsner. Orange Vanilla Bullsicle in the sampler was good, definitely tasted creamsicle and got a full size later. Next up was the German Style Maibock, very good lager, but was unable to get a large pour due to alcohol percentage, makes no sense. Next lager was a Rye and it was There's No Rying in Baseball. I'm
Not normally a Rye guy, but it was good.

The place itself is really cool, nice big garage door opens up to the outside seating with 2 picnic tables. Inside has 2 high top tables a big group could sit at, but they're very uncomfortable. You can't fit your legs under. And there is about 10 bar seats (they have outlets by the seats for chargers which is nice) and 15 seats against the wall.

Definitely a top Brewery in the Bergen County Area especially if you want to be outside on the weekend.

Great selections from the regulars to the seasonal to the specialties. Stay and drink or take some home.
Staff is very helpful and friendly. Even allowed outside food so you can stay longer.

Beer is ok. I think I'd really like this place if the beer garden area wasn't next to the dumpster.

My experience at Bolero is a 5/5 - largely due to Erica. We had my husband's birthday party here and everything was perfect!

We originally were planning to be outside but because the outdoor taps weren't open and the weather was too hot, we hosted the party in their upstairs area.

Everyone had a great time and were impressed with the wide variety of beers and hard seltzers. We also had a ton of food delivered - a sandwich platter from Annabella's and pizza from Vesta's per Erica's suggestion.

My personal favorite beers were Crushabull and Juicy Pebbulls. If you like sour beers, this is the brewery for you.

Loved the brewery, the staff, and the space. Can't wait to be back! Thank you Erica for being a wonderful host.
